A little over a week ago, I published stats showing historical trends in Ubuntu for how many packages we’ve had in a Failed To Build From Source status at release time. The Maverick numbers weren’t final then. They are now. The numbers show a noticeable change from just nine days ago. The Maverick numbers are lower for every architecture in the archive than they’ve ever been before.
Great job everyone. Another sign of progress in this cycle is that there are zero packages registering as waiting on another package to have a chance to build. I don’t think that happened before. In Lucid there were dozens. It looks like this release is another step forward in archive consistency and completeness.
